PURPOSE(S):
To provide civilian time and attendance services for Department of Defense (DoD) Components and the Department of Energy located worldwide. This system will capture time and attendance, labor and production data for input to payroll and accounting systems. It will also provide the user a single, consolidated input method for reporting both time and attendance and labor information.

In addition to those disclosures generally permitted under 5 U.S.C. 552a(b) of the Privacy Act of 1974, as amended, these records contained therein may specifically be disclosed outside the DoD as a routine use pursuant to 5 U.S.C. 552a(b)(3) as follows:

SAFEGUARDS:
Access to records is limited to individuals who are properly screened and cleared on a need-to-know basis in the performance of their duties. Passwords and user identifications are used to control access to the system data, and procedures are in place to deter browsing and unauthorized access. Physical and electronic access are limited to persons responsible for servicing and authorized to use the system.
RETENTION AND DISPOSAL:
Records are considered temporary in nature and cutoff at the end of each payroll year. The records are then destroyed after GAO audit or when 6 years old, whichever is sooner. Records stored on electronic media are destroyed by degaussing and hardcopy output products are destroyed by shredding, burning, or pulping.
